September 29: Bicycle for fun in The Tour de Poway

Dear Desert Friends -

Well, my friends, the heat is ending, so are longer days & September. October is right around the corner & we all know what's next.

Well, this month brings some incredible events here in the Desert, starting with the Relay For Life - a two day event for the fight against Cancer. I do want to apologize & put another plug in for my friend Gina Koch - I spelled her name incorrectly in the last newsletter. Go Gina!

This weekend is the 2nd annual Mind, Body, Spirit conference sponsored by Crystal Fantasy. Read further to discover Mandala's by Mari Mendoza, which can be purchased for a special price only at the conference. And look for me with Mari! Stop by & say hello.

This weekend is also the last for the L.A. County Fair. Check out some of my previous newsletters for more information. Plus don't forget tonight Tuesday 7:30pm at the Camelot Theater in Palm Springs - a special showing of 'Voices of Honor'.

Out of the area, bike rides galore. I hope you all had fun at the Rosarita Beach / Ensenada ride. Congratulations! Let's keep pedaling with the Tour de Poway.....Have a safe ride my friends.

Tour de Poway

7am Start time 

The 24th Annual Tour de Poway Fun Bike Ride

 has grown to be one of the largest fun ride cycling events in southern California drawing over 2,000 participants. . The 100, 62 and 50 mile courses begin with a climb up the Poway road grade (8% for 3 miles) followed by a fantastic 7 mile downhill.

 The century route includes a ride down the coast before heading back to Poway. The 26 and 18 mile courses provide both a fun and enjoyable experience for the weekend cyclists. After cyclists return to Old Poway park, they will have the option to relax, listen music and visit the booths at the health & fitness expo.

If you haven't done this ride, it's an

incredible experience.
