Hello Desert Dwellers -

Yep, believe it or not, it's September already. It may be spring time elsewhere, but in the Desert it's still hot!
That's okay. September brings with it amazing activities of various types for all to enjoy. There are amazing cycling events happening all over; San Diego; San Francisco; Ventura. Bodybuilding & Fitness Model competition on Muscle Beach in Venice.

Plus Fit By Nic newsletters aren't just about the Desert. These newsletters reach all over California! And Fit By Nic newsletters aren't just about physical fitness events.
Coming in just a couple of weeks is the Biggest Spiritual Event to hit the Desert ever!
The Bhakti Fest in Joshua Tree brings people such as Deepak Chopra & Ram Dass! You are not going to want to miss this event.

Locally, Mari Mendoza brings you a special celebration for September; And my favorite Healthy restaurant - Nature's Health Food & Cafe - is open 7 days a week. Yeah!

What are Kettle Bells? Balls with handles.

Apparently, Kettle Bells have been around for over

twenty years, but classes utilizing the kettle bell

have just recently taken off.
I was fortunate to be able to take a kettle bell class

while I was gone this weekend.

I don't believe in taking time off from taking

care of myself. So I must practice what I preach.
I took a kettle bell class at the

VMAT Training Facility

with Vanessa Mariscal a recent gold medal

 in 2009's Best of the West grappling tournament.

WHAT A WORKOUT!
As far as I know there are no kettle bell

classes in the Desert.
